Tractor Operator and Produce Processor

This individual will be responsible for completing basic tractor field work from chopping, discing, perfecting, mowing headlands, fertilizing with a drop spreader, with a transition towards extensive front end loader work as harvest progresses. This individual is responsible for routine maintenance of the equipment they operate. It is the responsibility of the equipment operator to
notice and report any mechanical issues to appropriate supervisors. Tractor work and related tasks will comprise approximately 50 percent of work hours depending on the season and operators’ mechanical aptitude. Other job responsibilities include vegetable processing and/or picking.

Necessary Skills:
– Mechanical aptitude is essential
– Attention to detail is essential
– Organized and systematic
– Ability to work alongside others in a fast paced environment
– A gentle touch and desire to send out quality produce
– Prior experience operating heavy equipment (we will train the hired individual to our farm’s systems)

This individual will have a lot of variety in their work. Transitions can happen quickly. Scheduled tasks are occasionally interrupted to assist with changing priorities, this individual needs to be flexible throughout the day. (weather dependent, etc.).
