2024 Greens and Vegetable Wash Pack Crew:

The wash pack crew is responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of the greens and veggies. This is a year round position with winter work consisting of packing root crops and washing winter greens.

Vegetable Processing Responsibilities Include:

• • Washing and packing of greens and assorted veggies for a diverse array of wholesale accounts, farmers markets and our farmstand.
  • Maintain the high standards Goranson Farm has developed a reputation for.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Follow Goranson Farms Food Safety Procedures.
  • Wash totes and containers used to pack veggies.

Time commitment:

• • Summer
  • Weekday
  • (Monday-Wednesday): 7:30-4:30
  • (Thursday+Friday): 7:30-5:00
  • Winter (Start time dependent on crew preference)
  • (Mon-Fri): 7:30-3:30

Compensation:

• • Starting Wage – $16,95/hr. PTO available after 3 months full time employment

2024 Field Crew/Farmers: 4 Openings – Full Time

We’re looking for experienced vegetable farmers to join our crew! Have you been missing farming all winter and want to jump back in? Want to learn the ins and outs of winter vegetable farming? Interested in hitting the summer season running with the skills required to take on responsibility and pursue independent projects?

Goranson Farm is a diversified year-round organic vegetable farm in Dresden. Our dynamic and diverse crew is good-humored, thoughtful, and motivated; together we grow and harvest veggies and fruit for three winter markets, five summer markets, year round wholesale accounts, and one of Maine’s longest running Community Supported Agriculture programs. We have been growing on the same piece of land since 1960 and community is everything to us.

Priority is given to Applicants Who:
– Work collaboratively within a large and talented crew.
– Have a strong sense of motivation, sustained attention to detail, and get-it-done attitude
– Can work full-time
– Commit to work through the harvest season (Mid-November). (We have full-time winter work available)
– Can lift 50lbs repeatedly, work bent over/squatting for full days outdoors in all weather.
– Have experience in produce handling and production-scale vegetable or fruit growing.

In the summer we are a crew of 20+ people who know how to keep our hands moving while chatting. In Winter, our crew shrinks to a core group of farmers. We stay busy packing the storage crops, tending + harvesting winter greens, working through independent projects, collecting maple sap, and starting the season’s crops in our greenhouses.
